This forever fund is in memory of our beautiful son Edward Saunders who lost his life tragically to meningitis when he was 18. In tribute to Edward and to raise awareness about meningitis we have published a children's story that Edward wrote when he was 11 called Robey And The Dentist and profits from the sale of this book go to Meningitis Now. A little while after Edward’s death his mum Tracey and sister Emily were invited to meet Bill Turnbull and Steph McGovern on BBC Breakfast TV to share Ed’s story in an interview that included a representative from Public Health England. Measured over a number of years Public Health England had spotted a worrying increase in the deaths of young people often student aged teenagers from the Meningitis W strain, and this was the strain that killed Edward aged 18. Today and as a result of spotting that disturbing trend in teenage deaths the ACWY vaccine is provided free in schools for all 14 year olds. You can see this interview on the following link
